Changes and Improvements
macOS Sierra 10.12.1 Beta 1
This pre-release version of macOS Sierra 10.12.1 will presumably contain the number of bug fixes and performance enhancements that will look to iron out any kinks or issues that made it into the public release yesterday. Reason macOS Sierra is brand new release, it’s not immediately evident if any outward-facing changes have made available to Mac owners. macOS Sierra 10.12.1 beta 1 is available to download via Apple Developer Program portal for those with a required privileges. Alternatively, for those already running a beta version of macOS on their compatible MacBook or iMac, Apple has also made this latest pre-release seed available directly via Update mechanism in the Mac App Store.
watchOS 3.1 Beta 1
Apple really doesn’t like to include any release notes or in-depth changelog with pre-release seeds. Given the fact that i’s very difficult to instantly ascertain exactly what is new when a new beta drops live into the hands of registered developers. As with macOS Sierra 10.12.1, watchOS 3.1 beta 1 is likely to focus on fixing issues and bugs altogether. It’s not immediately clear if any outward-facing changes have been included.
This latest watchOS 3.1 beta is available to developers via Apple’s Developer Program portal. To install this update, the Apple Watch must have 50% battery available, or be plugged into source as well as an iPhone running iOS 10.
tvOS 10.0.1 Beta 1
Onwers of Apple TV 4 running tvOS 10 will be very much looking forward to the progression of the new platform. Along with watchOS, tvOS is one of Apple’s most immature, but extremely exciting, platforms as we get to watch it grow. Literally, it doesn’t seem as if tvOS 10.0.1 contains any anticipated functionality or changes, rather it focuses on fixing bugs and ironing issues that have come to light since the public release of tvOS 10.
Anyone with a fourth-generation Apple TV with required privileges to install this latest beta will need to do so via a USB-C to USB-A cable on a computer via iTunes. If a OTA profile is already installed, then updates can be installed over-the-air from the settings menu right inside your ATV.
