After releasing iOS 10.2, Apple has also released watchOS 3.1.1 beta 2 and tvOS 10.1 beta 2 for Apple Watch and Apple TV users. Here are the details.
watchOS 3.1.1 beta 2 made available just one ween after the first developer seed released, with the latest tvOS 10.1 beta 2 also comes about a month after Apple introduced tvOS 10.1 to the public. Both updates represent the future of the platforms, and are now live for developers to download and test right away.
watchOS 3.1.1 Beta 2 for Apple Watch
This latest seed is a relatively minor 3.1.x update, which doesn’t seem to contain any impressive, or even notable features, outward-facing changes that are immediately available to anyone interacting with it. As part of the progression of watchOS as a platform, Apple has chosen to focus on introducing under-the-hood enhancements that should fix any known bugs and issues, as well as offering a more streamlined experience for all Apple Watch owners.
It can be downloaded through the stock Watch app that can be found on the connected iPhone’s Home sreen. In the app, navigating to General > Software Update section should get you the new watchOS 3.1.1 beta 2 update.
tvOS 10.1 Beta 2 for Apple TV
To coincide with the release of watchOS 3.1.1 beta 2, Apple has also issued the same developers with a second seed of tvOS 10.1. Known thus far, tvOS 10.1 has introduced the highly-anticipated Single Sign-on feature that Apple has been testing for some time. That feature allows Apple TV owners to use one single set of login details then gives access to all available capable content where applicable and in supported apps.
Single Sign-on is yet to make an official appearance though, supported with tvOS 10.1, but through the recently introduced “TV” app. The rst of the update appears to have been released as part of Apple’s dedication to progressing the platform and issuing bi=ug fixes and of course, security improvements where necessary. For those that have a beta configuration profile installed on the Apple TV, this latest tvOS 10.1 beta 2 seed can be downloaded and installed as an over-the-air (OTA) update.
