Download: iOS 10 Beta 6, macOS Sierra Public Beta 5, watchOS 3 and tvOS Beta 6 Released

Now available for download iOS 10 beta 6 / public beta 5, macOS Sierra beta 6 / public beta 5, watchOS 3 beta 6 and tvOS 10 beta 6 for all compatible devices. Apple has released the sixth developer and fifth public pre-release seeds approximately a week after developer beta 5 and public beta 4 for all platforms for the iPhone and iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and of course, the Apple TV 4. It seems like all new major platform versions have been in test since the original beta seed was pushed to developers immediately after the opening keynote of this year’s Worldwide Developer Conference in June.

Here’s everything that has changed, improved, or what’s new in iOS beta 6 and public beta 5 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices.

iOS 10 Beta 6 / Public Version 5

Out of all Apple’s major software platforms, iOS 10 would be the more excited within consumers. Not actually because it’s the most complex, but rather simply because it’s the underlying firmware that powers the iPhone and iPad, and perhaps the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. It will be the first new devices to ship with iOS 10 pre-installed. It really won’t come as a surprise that this release (developer beta 6 and public beta 5 for testers) contains the usual bug fixes and stability improvements necessary to get iOS 10 to a final stage where it’s ready for prime users consumption. It’s just only a matter of weeks until we expect iOS 10 to go live, which we don’t expect to see any major outward-facing feature additions in future betas.

Any registered developer or a public beta testers with a previous beta of iOS 10 installed can grab the latest update via the Software Update mechanism within Settings > General > Software Update. Developers can also grab the firmware directly from Apple servers by heading to at

macOS Sierra Beta 6 / Public Beta 5

OS X is now to be known as macOS. With that change comes a number of fabulous improvements and feature additions that will first become available when macOS Sierra 10.12 goes live in the next few weeks. Owners of compatible iMacs and MacBooks will soon be able to experience, consume all of the improvements within macOS Sierra as a free-of-charge upgrade via the Mac App Store, but for the time being developer beta 6 and public beta 5 doesn’t contain any new outward-facing changes.

This release is all about stability and under-the-hood improvements that exist to try and get the platform ready for the final consumer release in the coming weeks. Developers and testers can grab this with an existing beta version of macOS Sierra’s latest update via the Mac App Store.

watchOS Beta 6

For a new Apple Watch release, we can otherwise have to console ourselves with the enhancements made to watchOS that look to bring new functionality to the existing Apple Watch hardware. watchOS 3 is the biggest jump yet with this platform, as well as any new hardware that is announced in the hopefully near future should be powerful enough to provide a fantastic experience on the existing Apple Watch.

This latest release of watchOS 3 beta doesn’t instantly contain any new feature additions or functionality upgrades. Focuses only on improving what is already there and getting watchOS 3 ready for installation on devices globally when it launches later this year. The update can be installed via the accompanying Watch iPhone app.

tvOS 10 Beta 6

New changes and improvements within the tvOS 10 beta 6 is scarce at the moment. tvOS is undoubtedly one of Apple’s most exciting platform, not because it powers hardware that is looking to reinvent our living rooms, but also because it’s a relatively new and immature platform that has a lot of space for expansion and growth going forward. Beta 6 only contains the usual features to stabilize the platform and get it ready for a public launch, presumably next month, and also equipped with all the new changes and feature additions that were discovered in beta 5.

If any new additions or feature upgrade make themselves known in any of those releases, we will bring immediately to the table and share.
