Apple today made available to download iOS 11 beta 3 IPSW links and OTA update for developers only iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. Here are the details.
iOS 11 beta 3 is live now and it brings with it fair share of changes, improvements, bug fixes and of course new features to the table. By making the third pre-release seed of iOS 11 to developers registered on the company’s Developer Program proves its commitment to the progress of iOS. Users with the necessary account privileges can grab that update right now for all compatible iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch hardware.
The release of iOS 11 beta 3 reiterated two weeks after releasing the original second beta and over a month after introducing the new software update at the Worldwide Developers Conference. Registered developers only can download the iOS 11 beta from Apple’s Developer Center, or over-the-air once the proper configuration profile has been installed.
When compared to the second iOS 11 beta that included a slew of bug fixes, addressing issues that were discovered in the first beta seed. The thid beta will also include many fixes, but could also focus more heavily on feature tweaks and changes. In iOS 11 beta 2, there were only a handful of changes, most notably the enabling of Do Not Disturb mode.
However, the initial release of a platform like iOS 11 into development community is always exciting, though, it also only feels like the very beginning of what’s to come. Everything you get is great at this stage and with a third pre-release seed is that those same developers, as well as the rest of us looking on in from the outside, can eventually get a tangable understanding of how the platform is progressing and can physically interact with changes and improvements.
iOS 11 introduces some design changes, including a customizable Control Center and a new Lock screen that’s merged with the Notification Center. Peer-to-Peer Apple Pay payments are being introduced in the Messages app, which is one gaining a new App Drawer, as well as there’s a new DnD feature that is designed especially to help drivers stay focused on the road, Siri, Photos app, the Camera app, and more are also gaining significant improvements.
With iOS 11 beta 3, Apple has put significant changes in place, which is somewhat noticeably more polished than its predecessor. As the feedback continues to filter, the company will look further to work from that perspective to ensure that bugs and irregularities are fixed as soon as possible, and when possible.
As soon as we dive deeper into iOS 11 beta 3, we;ll get a more rounded picture of what has actually changed. In Beta 2 of iOS 11, Apple has introduced a significant amount of changes, such as fixes put in place for those who wish to migrate across to iOS from Android, as well as resolving an issue with application icons when restoring from an iTunes backup. Also acknowledged a number of improvements made around how third-party apps function on iOS 11. As an example, beta 2 fixed a problem with installed third-party keyboards and the permissions they need, an issue with Tencent video loading, as well as audio mysteriously dropping during Skype calls from the device.
