It’s Official: Nexus 6 Receives Android 7.0 Nougat OTA Update, Also Posted Factory Images For Download

Finally, the Nexus 6 smartphone gets the latest Google’s mobile operating system Android 7.0 Nougat, which was although rolled out for other Nexuses over five weeks ago, and today it has reached the two-year-old Nexus 6. The smartphone by Google was waiting for an update, and here it is as we go, check out the details.

Not only has Google posted an Android Nougat Factory Image, alongside a flashable OTA file, but also owners of Nexus 6s are receiving Over-The-Air updates now as well.

Now that it is good to see the oldest of the Nexuses supported in the Nougat release, a two-year old phone still get the latest software. Being that the Nexus 6 (aside Nexus 9), gets the update and the hardware available inside, we wouldn’t be surprised if it ran just as well now as it seemed to on the early Developer Preview releases.

Google at this point hasn’t made any claims about why the Nexus 6 fell so far behind the group, as it isn’t uncommon for some Nexus brands to be a bit delayed in receiving the latest software update. You can download the factory image or OTA file from the links provided below.
