As promised by Sony, bringing Android 6.0 Marshmallow into their Xperia Z2, Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact smartphone through OTA update, has finally rolling out to the said devices. After releasing a Beta build a month ago, users of the aforementioned Xperia smartphones are started to receive the official Marshmallow update.
The Android Marshmallow firmware carrying a build number 23.5.A.0.570, upgrades the OS version to the latest 6.0.1, which also includes the February Android Security patch as well as the new camera app interface.
It was a month later after the update for Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact and the Z5 Premium rolled out, Sony Mobile has officially starts the rollout of Android 6.0.1 update to its Xperia Z2 (D6503 only), Xperia Z3 (D6603 only) and Xperia Z3 Compact (D5803 only). These handsets were part of the bea program and the final version of the firmware has the same build number and that too not receiving by the world – so far it’s the US, Russia, Ukraine, Middle East and North Africa, and perhaps Latin America.
The company also confirmed that other devices including Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia M5, Xperia C5 Ultra, Xperia M4 Aqua and Xperia C4 will get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update very soon.
