Apple Seeds tvOS 11.4 Beta 1 And watchOS 4.3.1 Beta 1 For Apple TV And Apple Watch

Apple has today released the first pre-release seed of tvOS 11.4 and watchOS 4.3.1 to those hard-working and invested individuals registered on the company’s developer program. These releases come following the iOS 11.43 beta 1 download to developers.

Here, what the release means to developers? The latest is available to download and try out those platforms with immediate effect on all compatible hardware.

In addition, Apple has released the first tvOS 11.4 beta for Apple TV 4 and Apple TV 4K. Release notes for tvOS 11.4 beta now out for testing, represents a chance for that same testing community to dive right in and put the platform through its paces whilst sending information directly back to Apple’s engineers.

tvOS 11.4

Designed for the fourth-generation Apple TV and 4K models, tvOS 11.4 developer beta can be downloaded onto the TV set-top box via configuration profile installed using Xcode.

But this version of tvOS 11.4 is highly likely to simply contain bug fixes and improvements to solidify and stabilize the platform. Otherwise, AirPlay 2 was removed from tvOS 11.3 final version, we expect it to make a reappearance with this release. It’s historically been admitted to be with Apple’s tvOS updates on a minor scale. tvOS 11.3, for example, introduced Match content support, automatic frame rate switching on the fourth-generation Apple TV, and automatic mode switching for AirPlay video sessions.

For now, registered developers can start putting tvOS 11.4 through its paces by heading over to developer.apple.com to get started.

watchOS 4.3.1: Apple also seeded the first beta of an upcoming watchOS 4.3.1 update to developers, a little under one week after releasing watchOS 4.3, a major update that introduced portrait Nightstand mode and iPhone music controls on Apple Watch.

As the first re-release version of watchOS 4.3.1 suggests, this minor update has likely been put in place in order to correct any issues discovered in the watchOS 4.3 final and to introduce under-the-hood enhancements and improvements. As we have come to expect, Apple hasn’t pushed out any verbose changelog with this release leaving us all to only guess what’s inside of it. If any additional information or functionality or features are found we will be sure to let you know immediately.

For those of you interested in watchOS 4.3.1, can be downloaded and installed on the accompanying Apple Watch app by heading to General > Software Update. The Apple Watch needs to have at least 50% battery and also connected to a power socket, and definitely, need to have configuration profile for watchOS betas installed on the compatible iPhone.
