No more information about the event is well-known, but it’s likely that be something around the solar eclipse as US will witness its first ever complete solar eclipse in over a century on the same date.

August 21 will be when all the US citizens will witness the event. Google has timed the launch of Android O with the eclipse considering during the solar eclipse, which is a ring around the sun that is visible in the sky, in the shape of a big “O”. Apart from Android Oreo, there has been in speculation two other names – suggested for the upcoming mobile OS. Likely to be called Android Oatmeal Cookie.

In a recent developer’s preview of Android 8.0 showed an Octopus, which has now confused people as to what the actual name might be. Not only Ruddock, but Even Blass  on Twitter also mentioned that the version 8.0 will officially arrive on August 21.

The first Android O Beta – Developer Preview has already been made available for testing purposes, rolled out to developers and old Google smartphone owners who have signed up for the update.
