Unicode 10 To Bring 51 New Emoticons To iOS, Here’s What They Show Up

iPhone and iPad owners have received a fair list of new and improved emoji characters to look forward with public release of iOS 10.2, but wait, there’s another set of new emoticons added to the table. Here are they showing up already.

The emoji enhancements in iOS 10.2 will undoubtedly improve the communication experience to those installing Apple’s latest firmware when publicly available, but there’s still several other faces to look at beyond iOS 10.2 with the Unicode Consortium just approving a total of 51 new emoji as part of the Unicode 10 release.

Proposals revealed for 2017 roll out, and there’s no stopping the Unicode Consortium as it introduced fifty one new emoji characters for acceptance in Unicode 10. Newly approved emoji that will come as part of Unicode 10 are characters and suggestions that have been sent to the community by third-party individuals looking to enhance their won communication experiences.

Out of these 51 suggested in Unicode 10, and are ultimately get the approval of new emoji, 36 of them are new emoticons that will be integrated into the final version of Unicode 10. Users can look forward to a grinning face with stars for eyes, heart, symbols, arrow, python, a smiling face showing a hand applying makeup, and even – how should I put it – a face with projectile vomiting. After all, everyone needs a vomiting emoji, right?

Hijab, breastfeeding and zombie emoji set also to be included in Unicode 10. Aside from the faces and hand gestures, there are more types of food on the characters list, including soda/milkshake, pretzel, broccoli, coconut, and sandwich. Clothing items like socks, gloves, and a coat, are also present. Activities including rock climbing, sauna, yoga/meditation and much more.

Anyone looking to communicate themselves having a bad day will also be able to take advantage of the new face with an exploding head, or will be able to use the new face with smiling eyes and party hat to go across the idea.

Given the fact that there are 36 new faces being added, literally, something to convey the full spectrum of emotions when needed. The Faces category isn’t the only thing that’s been shown some love by the Consortium.

That’s the “Shocked face with an exploding head”, a perfect reaction to Donald Trump winning the elections if you’re a Hillary supporter. If been a supporter to Trump, there’s a barfing emoji ot the cursing face or the “shhh” face we mentioned above.

Everyone other than the aforementioned loves a good animal emoji, and to that end, the Animals category will benefit them the inclusion of new hedgehog, giraffe and zebra icons, as well as a Sauropod, T-Rex and a cricket. Also there a number of miscellaneous entries in the form of a flying saucer, a cup with a straw, an “I love you” hand sign, a gender agnostic merperson, and then an elf and a genie.

You also get a new emoji, if you for some reason ever decide you need that. Very likely that the list of inclusions as part of Unicode 10 could change by timebeing, with more added at the Consortium will. Then it requires the likes of Apple to integrate Unicode 10 into iOS so that we can actually take advantage of the new characters.
