Upcoming LG G6 To Feature 13MP Dual-Rear Cameras, Always-On Display, Rounded Corners, More

LG seems to be teasing its upcoming G6 smartphone in bits and chunks ahead of the annual Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. As newly leaked renders confirm LG G6 will have a fingerprint scanner at the back, dual rear camera setup and rounded corners on the front. Now, another set of images surfaced providing new pictures of G6 that give us a close look at a silver color variant of the flagship phone. Here are the details you should know.

First and foremost, the leaked renders of the LG G6 reveals always-on display and alsongside confirms some specifications of the phone. It is said to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB of RAM and insert 32GB of expandable storage. Also said that the LG G6 will be backed by a 3200mAh battery as well. LG also fairly said that its next flagship (aka LG G6) will ditch removable battery for water-resistant body. The high-end phone will not get Amazon’s Alexa anymore, but will come packing Google Assistant by means.

LG’s G6 smartphone will feature two 13MP camera sensors on its rear face, in addition to a camera on the front side with a 100-degree field of view, but the back two offer a 125-degree angle – with one camera working specifically to offer the wider view – allowing for wide images to fit inside a square 1:1 ratio for that all-major perfect Instagram snap, as per this Korean language blog post.

By the way the G6 won’t be the first phone to have two rear camera system – last year’s V20 had a 16MP lens and an 8MP shooter on its back side, similar to the G5 before it – but the wide-angle cameras on the G6 should be able to take advantage of the device’s unusually tall 18:9 display. It was also said that the company would come with a 360-degree panorama mode, as well as a food mode that boosts color saturation, and a square camera feature that splits the screen in two so that you can see what you’ve just shot while you line up your next picture.

The LG G6 tipped to be a single SIM variant, comes running Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box, hopefully the smartphone will be just as innovative as the G5 in some places. The LG G5 and V20 sports a 8MP secondary rear camera sensors with 135-degree wide-angle lens. It is expected to feature Hi-Fi Video recording and manual camera mode, talking about the LG G6 when compared to the V20.

Design, LG went out on a limb with a new layout that let you swap out the bottom piece of the G5, an innovative move that turned out to be a commercial failure. This year, it’s falling in line with the look and feel of other high-end phones. This is how every phone maker is slowly moving to the same place in terms of design.

There’s a lot of stake for LG, which should compete with the top five players, with about 3.9 percent of the world’s market share over the first nine months of 2016. The Korean company is squeezed on both ends. At the best of the market, LG can’t make much of a dent against Apple or Samsung. Among budget phones, Chinese companies thrive to dominate.

Samsung on the other hand is widely believed to be the first company to use Snapdragon 835, which is expected to go into the new Galaxy S8. The decision does allow LG to launch its phone ahead of Samsung, which is somewhat expected not to have a larger presence at MWC. The G6 follows the Xiaomi Mi MIX, which also introduced a similar looking phone that’s virtually all-glass on the front.

Also, the G6 will follow the steps of Google’s Pixel and Pixel XL and come with Google Assistant, will become the second phone to get it, which can answer your questions and give you updates on daily apppintments like meeting or flight schedules and much more. Because LG has a strong partnership with Google, also with Amazon and actually intended to put its Alexa digital assistant into the G6. But it declined the plan because it didn’t feel ready just yet. Alexa will likely arrive in LG phones later this year.

The new UI, called UX 6.0, will be optimized for the 5.7-inch QHD+ ‘Full Vision’ display. A feature that allows users to view existing 16:9 ratio content easily in 18:9 format. The G6 will provide advanced multi-tasking features. Also Read: LG G6 Teaser Reveals ‘Big Screen That Fits’ A Compact 5.7-Inch QHD Display Phone

Rumors suggesting that the G6 will feature a new wireless charging system, which already confirmed by LG that the phone will come equipped with a Quad DAC to improve sound quality, which is something it introduced in the V20. LG will reveal the G6 smartphone on February 26 and it might be available in the market in the first week of March. Also Read: The LG G6 Promises Higher-Level Sound With An upgraded Quad-DAC Output.
