Vivo V5, V5 Plus With 20MP Front-facing Camera Allegedly Leaked: Specifications And Features

Vivo seems to be in the selfie-focused smartphone race to compete with the likes Gionee S6s and Oppo F1s. Is all set to launch two new smartphones in India under its ‘V’ series, called V5 and V5 Plus. Here are the details you need to know about.


Scheduled release date for Vivo V5 and V5 Plus is expected to take place on November 15, the same day Gionee S9 and S9T are also holds, both of which have a front-facing camera with LED flash to capture selfies in low light.

For the launch of V5 and V5 Plus, Vivo has already sent out press media invites with a tagline “selfie evolution”. It will be held in Mumbai, the invitation hinted at selfie-based smartphones and the new leak also confirms its sensor range of 20-megapixel for video calling too.

Spotted by the source, which called them PhoneRadar. What appears to reveal is a promotional photo and the retail packaging of the Vivo V6. Now that we know some of its specifications and features. The first photo reveals both the hardware, the V5 and V5 Plus sporting a 20MP selfie cameras. Both expected to come equipped with similar design sorting a metal unibodi aspect and 2.5D curved glass on top.

The physical Home button also reveals which has been adjusted at the front, just below the display. It is expected to come embedded with a fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication and others.


Vivo V5 Specifications

Packaging leaked today confirming that the V5 phone to play with a 5.5-inch HD screen covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. This particular area Vivo has been wrong and doing it another time. Under the hood, it is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 652 Octa-Core SoC (4 Cortex A53 cores + four Cortex A72 cores) clocked at 1.8GHz. Paired with Adreno 510 GPU and 4GB of RAM.

The Vivo V5 is also said to include a Hi-Fi audio chip to offer better sound quality, both on speaker and headphones. On the software front, the V5 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Vivo’s FunTouch OS on top.

The Vivo V5 Plus specs also expected with slightly higher resolution display and a bigger battery. Rest of other key features would be same as Vivo V5. Not officially given that fact that the Vivo V5 to carry a price tag around Rs. 20,000, while the V5 Plus model a bit higher around Rs. 25,000 or more.

If that’s the case, then the Vivo V5 should face a drastic competition amongst Oppo F1s, which is priced at Rs. 17,990, comes with 16MP selfie shooter and of course, the Gionee S6s with Rs. 17,999 price tag and comes equipped with 8MP front camera. Still nothing is officially confirmed, but in a day we all get the actual price info and its availability when Vivo makes the announcement.
