It was September 2015 when YU’s plans of launching a new flaghsip smartphone was revealed, called Yutopia. Since then, the Micromax Televentures has been thus far teasing the handset in bits and pieces, and this time again. Now another teaser from YU has outed, which has taken the dig at Apple’s iPhones for their battery life.
This is what the tweet speaks, a “High on price, low on juice! High time; #ThinkDifferent #RaiseTheBar! #Yutopia.” Image shows Apple logo with low battery indication and a caption teased that reads, “Would you enjoy an apple that doesn’t last long?”. What makes sense is that this latest teaser hinting at the smartphone equipped with higher-capacity battery package.
Tipped in the past that Yu YUTOPIA is all set to mingle with metal unibody design with chamferd edges, followed by another hinting at the hardware expected to come with quad-HD (QHD) display, an expandable SD card slot and a battery power-up with Fast charging capability.
Worth pointing here is that all YU-based smartphones released this far have been priced under Rs 10,000. With YUTOPIA being the 2015 flagship smartphone, could be the company’s first handset to break that price barrier. Registrations for the Yutopia are live now, as the company has already started taking on its website, and also mentioned that the Yu phone won’t be going on sale via Flash.
As per the leaked information, rather confirmed one, Yutopia could come equipped with a 5.2-inch QHD display and powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 810 SoC with 4GB of RAM. With 21-Megapixel rear camera, and 8MP front-facing sensor, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS connectivity options on-board. The YU Yutopia will indeed come with Cyanogen OS 12.1 based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and that too being a metal-clad smartphone.
