Windows 8 Gets No Official Support From Microsoft Technically Anymore

The Software giant of Redmond has finally stopped offering security patches for the three-year old operating system, Windows 8. In favor of Windows 10 version of the desktop operating system, Microsoft has ended support for IE 8, 9 and Internet Explorer 10.

Support for Windows 8, Microsoft has finally took the steps towards and is coming to an end soon. Begenning January 12, 2016, only some of current version of Internet Explorer available for a supported OS will receive technical supports and security updates. While the older versions of Microsoft IE web browsers will still be functional, but never be received security updates, which by means will be more vulnerable to catching malware online.

For that to get rid off. Users are recommended switch to IE 11, which will continue to have technical support on Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and obviously on Windows 10, or simply be using Microsoft Edge, the company’s new browser line, introduced with the release of Windows 10.

Windows 8 support from Microsoft technical team has been ended on Tuesday, and users are encouraged to switch to a new operating system for security reasons. Windows 8.1 OS will however receive support until January 10, 2023, and Windows 10 until October 14, 2025.

Over 200 million users already using the new Windows 10 Operating system, and the main goal if for that number to reacj 1 billion in two to three years of time. So, Microsoft’s drive encourage more users to switch to Windows 10. “No other platform working in any ecosystem is available on 1 billion devices,” Windows chief Terry Myerson said at a developer’s conference in August.
