Before Apple did launch the OLED iPhone X in 2017, Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi pulled off an impressive trick in late 2016 when it introduced the first all-screen, bezel-less phone into the world, the Mi Mix. Followed by a year next launched its successor, the Mi Mix 2.
The second-generation Mi Mix 2 has a more refined version of original, but lacks a rather larger bottom bezel, where the front-facing camera resides, meaning, it’s not the all-screen smartphone we wanted – just like the iPhone X (which isn’t exactly all screen) through the iPhone X’s bezel is smaller when compared.
Now, a new report surfaced alongside the design sketch and render of the rumored Mi Mix 2S. Specifications-wise, the Mi Mix 2S certainly looks a lot more exciting than the previous Mi Mix models. And while the render itself hasn’t been confirmed, we do have ethical news about that the Mi Mix 2S is real.
Thanks to Mi Mix 2S firmware files obtained by XDA-Developers got hold of, which confirms that the phone is codenamed ‘Polaris,’ as well as Snapdragon 845 chipset and Sony’s IMX363 camera sensor that merges with earlier reports.
Date from the software reveals the handset technical name and it also suggests Qualcomm’s SD845 processor, 3400mAh battery, and runs Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box. While the phone display has an 18:9 aspect ratio and a full HD+ resolution (2160x1080p), as well as an AI-infused camera software.
Previous rumors suggest that the Mi Mix 2S will have a 5.99-inch screen and it will feature an under-display fingerprint sensor. No other details have been confirmed by the leaked firmware. Unfortunately, there’s no telling when the Mi Mix 2S will launch, and if it does, it’ll probably be limited to China and India.
