Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Reportedly Set To Go On Sale via Flipkart

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, is reportedly be going to be available via Flipkart in addition to Mi.com. The successor to the popular Redmi Note 4 is also expected to go on sale via the Xiaomi online store, the official launch is set for February 14.

The Redmi Note 5 smartphone will be Flipkart exclusive when it launches in India in the given timeframe. Flipkart already has a full banner page up for upcoming Redmi Note 5 launch in India. It also gives an indication that the Note 5 is launching on Valentine’s Day.

Xiaomi’s own invite has only hinted that ‘5’ is coming, though source code from the website has tipped that the new phone will be the Redmi Note 5, and not Redmi 5 as it was previously speculated.

This has been suggested in a tweet posted by Flipkart itself. The last development emerges just a day after it was spotted that Xiaomi is likely to launch the Redmi Note 5 on February 14. For that, the Chinese company has sent out invites for its launch event that is possibly the place for the Redmi Note 5.

The tweet by Flipkart, which was posted from the official account, includes an image that features the number “5” and sports Xiaomi’s Mi and Flipkart logos on top. The tweet further points a question to the Redmi Note 5 as the upcoming launch at 12 pm IST on February 14. It also includes the phrase “all-rounder” which was previously linked with the Redmi Note 4 launch, where Indian Cricket all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja came to showcase the currently available Redmi Note model.

Speaking about the Flipkart’s banner page, also shows how the Redmi Note 3 was a best-seller, while 4 ‘gave you more’. Redmi Note 3 was one of the best sellers for the company in India and also helped it grow and expand its market share. While Redmi Note 4 has been the most popular and best-selling phone for 2017. Xiaomi is currently eying on the number one smartphone vendor in India and with this success has been driven by the Redmi series. With the Note 4 stand out in terms of shipment volumes.

However, the new smartphone could also become available through offline channels a few weeks after its initial online availability on Flipkart and Xiaomi’s own Mi.com store.

The event page on mi.com also recently pointed to the Redmi Note 5 launch as it included a JavaScript code that mentions a subdirectory titled ‘redminote5’. Apart from that, talking about its specifications, the Redmi Note 5 launched in China, which would come with a 5.99-inch full HD (1080×2160 pixels) IPS LCD display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It is also expected to come relatively with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, coupled with 3GB/4GB RAM and 32 or 64GB storage options. The smartphone also rumored to run MIUI 9-based Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box.

Other features on the Redmi Note 5 includes a dual camera setup on the back, with a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. In addition, it is rumored to sport an 8MP front-facing camera with 1080p video recording capability. Now that the power management on the Redmi Note 5, is said to include a 4100mAh battery. Besides, some early renders show a fingerprint sensor on the rear of the device.

Price and availability details of the Redmi Note 5 are likely to be informed by Xiaomi at its February 14 launch event. Although, the smartphone is reported to go on sale with a starting price of CNY 1,499 (Rs. 15,400 approximately). Stay tuned for more updates!
